With reference to Josie Muscat’s article entitled Problems have no vacations (TMI Friday, 30 July) we would like to clarify that the proposed site for the White Rocks Sports and Leisure Village would only occupy the area known as White Rocks and an adjacent piece of land in Pembroke which is today occupied by various sport and youth associations. As a result Dr Muscat’s article gives completely the wrong impression.
The proposed White Rocks project will not occupy, as was the case with previous projects, the garigue land down to the foreshore.
For ease of reference, a concept design of the White Rocks Sports and Leisure Village, as published on the date of announcement, can be seen above. It clearly shows that the proposed project shall not occupy the foreshore.
