The Pastoral and Liturgical Youth Group (PLYG) has launched their new official logo along with the new website and the Qamha mascot for kids.
The coordinator to the Qormi Bread Festival 2010, Stefan Gauci Scicluna, said that the new logo demonstrates PLYG’s commitment towards continuous improvement, while focusing on the Maltese bread as the central theme of the event.
Mr Gauci Scicluna emphasised that the launching of the new website, www.qormibreadfestival.org reflects the objectives of this year’s edition. The website includes information about major attractions, photos and videos of previous activities, newsletters and recipes related to the Maltese bread as well as the official song of the Qormi Bread Festival.
The new mascot for kids, Qamha, has also been launched. The logo is attached to a competition aimed towards the younger generation. Competition details, which can be found on the new website, consists of three easy question related to Maltese bread and the festival. The three winners will be awarded three great prizes on 11 September. A prize will also be awarded to the summer school with the largest number of students who participate in this competition.
The Qormi Bread Festival 2010 is being organised by PLYG in collaboration with the Qormi Council and other companies. The festival will be taking place between 10 and 11 September around the St Sebastian Parish Church. The activity starts at 7.30pm. The activity includes traditional and folkloristic music, food stands with traditional food and Maltese Bread, while an activity aimed for the children will be taking place at the back of the parish church. Mr Gauci Scicluna has also announced that a number of gifts will be given freely to the public attending the activity.
