The fourth edition of L-Ghanja Tal-Maltin Song Festival was held last month at the Inspire Health and Fitness Centre.The festival was organised by Stardust Promotions.
All those who attended were full of praise for the quality of the songs and organisation of the event. Thirty-six finalists were chosen among the 65 songs submitted and the results of the festival are as follows:
Section A
First Place: Katatabum sung by Owen Agius, lyrics by Christopher Azzopardi and composed by Priscilla Psaila.
Second Place: L-omm tal-velu sung by Gaia Cauchi, lyrics by Stephen Baldacchino and composed by Domenic Cini.
Third Place: Hlomt sung by Diana Formosa, lyrics and composition by Phillip Vella.
Section B
First Place: Qawsalla sung by Sarah Bonnici, lyrics and composition by Miriam Christine Warner.
Second Place: Anglu ta’ Imhabba sung by Naomi Roberts, composed by Priscilla Psaila and lyrics by Christopher Azzopardi.
Third Place: Nista nafda fik sung by Chantelle Abela composed by Priscilla Psaila and lyrics by Christopher Azzopardi.
Section C
First Place: Spazji sung by Domenique, lyrics by Paul Ellul and composed by Mark Spiteri Lucas.
Second Place: Kewba sung by Simarija Galea, lyrics by Rita Pace and composed by Marco Debono.
Third Place: Ghix sung by Mikaela Bajjada, lyrics by Francesco Pia Attard and composed by Miriam Christine Warner.
Section D
First Place: Nghix Ghalik sung by Godwin and Mathew Cini, lyrics and composition by Miriam Christine Warner.
Second Place: Abjad jew Iswed sung by Amulet, lyrics by Alexia Schembri and composed by Chan Vella.
Third Place: Karma sung by Stephanie Vella, lyrics and composition by Clinton Paul.
