Surely the abandoned vehicles in the Marsa area have registration numbers and chassis numbers which can be traced back to the owners, and the owners could then be fined for (as we say in England) fly tipping. Once the owners are fined, named and shamed, it would discourage others from doing the same.

Why can’t the council collect all the manure from the stables? Let’s face it, manure is a valuable commodity; it could be donated free and collected by being placed outside the stables in covered containers purchased by the stable owners, so as not to put a strain on the council’s resources. It could then be processed and sold on to farmers and gardeners. This would then improve the fertility of the soil. Being race horse manure, you could even market it as Flying Start. Who knows, you may even make a profit.

As a frequent visitor to Malta for the last 27 years, I feel the overdevelopment in some areas has damaged Malta more than a few abandoned cars and the smell of horse manure. The latter is easily rectified, whereas these multi-storey buildings are permanent fixtures spoiling the whole character of your beautiful, sunny and friendly island.
