Birkirkara coach Paul Zammit said that he had made it clear before the match that his players had to be mentally strong enough to overcome this match in the wake of the many suspended players. But after a very bad start and the goalkeeper’s injury, his players showed character.
“We won the match in the first half and then controlled our opponents in the second,” said Zammit. “We even created a couple of more chances and scored another late goal.”
The B’Kara coach is confident that if his players keep showing the same spirit, there is no way to doubt that they will be again title contenders.
“A very well done to my players” said a smiling Zammit.
