Making Economic growth greener: how and when

Leading Talks is pleased to announce its next speaker at a business breakfast to be held at the Phoenicia Hotel on Friday 24th September at 8.30am.

Ing. Pasquale Pistorio, honorary chairman of STMicroelectronics, will be giving many lessons on strategies for building and investing in the green economy and the opportunities therein. He will also discuss the challenges faced by policy and renewable energy in general. Ing. Pistorio is honorary chairman of ST Foundation, president of the Pistorio Foundation and chairman of Sagem Wireless (France). A former chairman of the Board at Telecom Italia, he is also an independent director of Fiat spa and a member of the internal consultative committee for the Government of Singapore, of the International Affairs Committee by the World Economic Forum, and of the Strategic ICT Committee in France. Pistorio has been also a member of the UN ICT Task Force and Vice President for Research and Innovation of Confindustria. Furthermore, he is a member of the Board of Brembo spa, Atos Origin (France) and Accent (Italy).

This year, Ing. Pistorio was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Electronic Engineering Times’ Annual Creativity in Electronics in San Jose, California for his enormous contribution to the global electronics Industry. The EE Times’ ACE Awards are the fastest growing electronics industry recognition event, honouring the people and companies behind the technologies that are changing the way we work, live and play. This prestigious award surely acknowledges Pistorio’s enormous contribution in the global electronics industry. The most notable of all achievements is Pistorio’s commitment to the earth’s environment.
