Group 8
St Patrick-Attard 1-2
St Patrick dictated the run of play during the first period but it was Attard who went close early on through a shot by Darren Galea which was cleared off the goal line.
In the 13th minute St Patrick had a shot by Randall Cassar which was saved by Dunstan Zarb but they managed to open the score on 20 minutes through Marco Petrovic who finished off a good move by Juergen Farrugia.
Nine minutes later the Saints were again close through Petrovic and in the 34th minute a shot by Randall Cassar was cleared off the goal line by Clive Lanzon.
Attard drew level on 55 minutes through Jonathan Saliba and five minutes later they even took the lead through Keith Xuereb following a personal effort.
The Saints reacted and a shot by Juergen Farrugia was deflected to a corner-kick but despite their late pressure, Attard managed to hold on to their slender lead.

Luqa SA-Kalkara 1-3
Luqa played the better football early on and after only four minutes they were close through Shaun Cutajar.
Then they wasted a clear opportunity through Lee Baldacchino but in the 16th minute Kalkara opened the score through a close-range shot by Matthew Cassar.
Then Cassar hit just wide from the edge of the penalty area with Luqa’s reaction producing efforts by Lee Baldacchino and Mark Said which were well saved by Peplow.
After the change of ends Luqa attacked for long stretches, twice going close through Mark Said and on another occasion a shot by Lee Baldacchino hit the upright.
In a counter-attack on the hour Kalkara increased their lead through Michael Zammit and in the 70th minute Kalkara added a third goal through Matthew Cassar from a cross by Zammit.
Luqa’s response was well controlled by a well organised Kalkara defence but they managed to get a consolation goal in the 76th minute through their captain Lee Baldacchino.
