Kiril Dzhorov, Floriana’s Bulgarian midfielder/striker, has issued an apology for his behaviour soon after he scored the Greens’ second goal in the match against Birkirkara on Saturday.
He ran towards the Birkirkara side of the Enclosure and celebrated his goal there.
In a statement, the Bulgarian said he did not want to show disrespect towards the Birkirkara fans, players and committee members.
“I was tense throughout the match, since I wanted to help my club obtain the maximum points from the encounter and, in a rash decision, I celebrated my goal in front of the stand in which the Birkirkara fans stood. I'm aware that this was a mistake from my end and as such would like to apologise.”
Finally, he said he hoped all Birkirkara fans, players and club committee members will accept his apology.
