Maltese athletes taking part in the Special Olympics being held in Poland, won several medals in various sports disciplines. Gold, silver and bronze medals were won by the Bowling girls, Marika, Maria Spiteri and Angele Azzopardi.

In Athletics, Claudio Dalli won silver in the 1500 metres, Ismael Falzon won bronze in the 100 metres and Michael Calleja won a bronze medal in the 400 metres.

Other Maltese athletes Joseph Tanti and Ruth Falzon will be taking part in these Games, among 1500 athletes from 58 countries.
