Team Greens competed in the Sicilian time trial Championships which were held earlier this month in Syracuse. The race featured two laps around the car racing track of Syracuse totalling 10.7 km. Over 110 athletes from all over Sicily took the challenge to claim the Sicilian title.

The Greens riders had an excellent showing claiming two podium places. Marie Claire Aquilina claimed the second place in the lady’s race a mere two seconds behind race winner Lucia Asero.

National time trial champion Etienne Bonello claimed the third spot in his category and eighth in the overall classification riding the distance in 14’27” averaging over 44km/h.

Team Greens had Etienne Bonello, Jason Vella, Peter Gatt, Christopher Gatt, Gerard Said, James Mifsud and Marie Claire Aquilina taking part in the event. Team Manager Charles Sammut accompanied them.
