Attard-Kalkara 4-1

Attard managed to qualify for the eliminatory round of the knock-out competition with a comfortable win over Kalkara. Attard went close early on through an effort from Darren Galea which went wide.

In the 10th minute, Clive Lanzon of Attard just missed the upright through a direct freekick.

Attard opened the score in the 19th minute thanks to a shot from close range by Darren Galea. Kalkara went close an equaliser in the 28th minute through a header from Micheal Zammit which just missed.

In the 33rd minute Jerome Peplow denied Attard from a second goal when he brilliantly saved a Kayne Said shot. Attard eventually scored again in the 36th minute from a direct freekick taken by Clive Lanzon.

Early in the second part Kalkara went close through a free-kick from Nicki Gatt saved by Luke Attard. Attard closed the match in the 62nd minute with an excellent shot from Jonathan Saliba. Attard scored their fourth five minutes later thanks to a personal effort from Kayne Said.

Kalkara were awarded a penalty in the 82nd minute for a foul by Daniel Haber on Glen Azzopardi whose penalty-kick was saved by Luke Attard. Kalkara scored a consolatory goal in the 88th minute through a shot from close range by Anton Cassar.

Luqa-St Patrick 0-4

Luqa were denied early on when Jason Good’s shot was brilliantly saved by Franklyn Azzopardi.

St Patrick replied in the 14th minute when they scored thanks to Marko Petrovic who took advantage from a defensive indecision and scored with a shot from close range. Luqa’ went close an equaliser in the 22nd minute when Lee Baldacchino’s shot hit the upright.

In the 30th minute, St Patrick had a freekick taken by Marko Petrovic which was saved by Paul Psaila while Anthony Portelli went close a few minutes later.

After the break St Patrick went close through efforts from Marko Petrovic and Karl Micallef while Luqa replied in 72nd minute through a Maveric Psaila freekick which hit the post.

Three minutes later the Saints hit the upright with a shot from Anthony Portelli. In the 81st minute Karl Micallef scored St Patrick’s second with a shot from close range while Gordon Failla scored the third in the 85th minute with a shot just off the penalty spot. St Patrick’s final goal was scored in the 87th minute with a low shot from Mirko Petrovic.
