Peaceful greetings to you all from Nairobi, Kenya! I would like to heartily thank Mission Fund for their generous donation, sent to me last week. I am sure that they will be rewarded hundredfold for their generosity!

My name is Sr Josepha Gauci, a Franciscan Sister of the Heart of Jesus. I have been a missionary for nineteen years. I live in Nairobi, Kenya and because I am the Regional Superior of our Sisters in Kenya and Ethiopia, I also visit our three communities in Ethiopia twice a year. Wherever I go I try to be presence of love, service and assistance to all whom we minister to. In Kenya we have three communities. In Nairobi we run a Formation House for young women, who come to us to confirm God’s call for religious life. These young women would have finished High School and have felt that the Lord is calling them to follow him closely in religious life. We try to help them in all that they require to start their vocational journey. This requires a lot of listening, patience and love, and we try to do all this with them.

We started another community in Kangari, Muranga Diocese, where we run a small dispensary. Two of the sisters there, help in pastoral activities and another sister helps in looking after the aspirants group, the first stage in the initial formation process.

At the beginning of this year we founded another community in Nguluni, Machakos Diocese, where we run a small school, with the intention of extending the school up to Grade 8, primary level.

Everything turns beautiful when things are done with love, especially when we serve others in their needs as best as we can. I assure you of my daily prayers and may the Lord reward you hundredfold for your donation and the sacrifices you take to assist us in our missionary work.
