Malta Independent Saturday, 2 October 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Spain’s Dani Pedrosa will miss tomorrow’s Moto GP Grand Prix of Japan after he fractured his left collarbone in a fall during yesterday’s practice session.

The Repsol Honda rider had completed just two laps on the Motegi circuit when he came off his bike and fractured his left clavicle in three places.

Italy’s Valentino Rossi had the fastest lap of 1 minute, 48.174 seconds ahead of compatriot Andrea Dovizioso and championship leader Jorge Lorenzo of Spain.

Lorenzo leads the Moto GP standings with 284 points followed by Pedrosa (228) and Australian Casey Stoner (155), who was fourth-fastest yesterday.
