Seventeen year old Daniel Bajada had good reasons to celebrate in style this summer. Daniel completed a clean sweep of all five seniors ranking table tennis tournaments and the prestigious Mens National Championships.

Supported and coached from a young age by his father Leslie, Daniel, currently ranked Malta’s number 1, is the youngest player to win the the Men’s national championship. He has been a model of consistency throughout the season, improving every week and showing great determination as well as enjoyment and a sporting attitude.

He repeated his relentless pace in early August winning gold in the sixth edition of the International Table Tennis Festival held in Cervia, Italy, hosting no less than 55 players.

Daniel’s impressive achievement has led to foreign interest in obtaining his service and was offered various trials in Italy.

Following his consecutive successes there has been no looking back for this ace player. He has now joined Bari Tennis Tavolo ASD Fiaccola and will play in Serie B1 Lega Nazionale for the coming season 2010-2011, possibly making his debut today in a home match against ASD Tennistavolo Norbello from Sardinia.

Daniel is a rising star and shows strong potential in the table tennis world. He sets a positive example for other youths – indeed an inspiring athlete.
