Dead Bodies flow downstream

Malta Independent Sunday, 3 October 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Quite! “Dead bodies flow downstream; it is difficult to go against the current and to swim upstream against it.” It takes courage, and sacrifice, altruism and true love... plus self-denial and self-control... to go against the grain of all that’s evil in this world. It also takes humility: the abolition of conceit and of pride...

Sadly, vanity, the lust for society’s approbation, a self-aggrandizing agenda, often come in the way. Hers are the SOS’ for attention of a very insecure and lonely soul deep within the core of her. Her emotional development has been stymied, stunted, her development truncated.

Daphne, the whole village stands awestruck by her nonsense. As well as the caboodle of hangers-on who comment on her blog: people in need of help and whose misery she condones and confirms.

Now, if you had been thinking that Daphne was the very best thing that’s happened to Malta since sliced bread, well, think again! She is just a dead body that goes with the flow! There is nothing unique about her except her pathetic worldview and her uncharitable attitude, which seem to get worse and worse as the years grow upon her.

She sometimes writes sense, let’s put this one down to her account: “Il faut rendre justice au diable” (to give the devil his due), as the French say, like when she rightly militates for acceptance of coloured people without reservations, or when she writes (rightly so) to defend the dignity of the Arab man and woman; but it almost always gets lost, crowded out, if you will, in the overwhelming tsunami of journalistic drivel she has put together over the years since she first started scratching her pen, so to speak.

Generally, her writings are nothing but what has been defined as “spherical nonsense”: nonsense whichever which way you slice it; nonsense from whichever which way you look at it!

She thinks she’s slick and clever, and ne plus ultra at sizing up character, with an answer to everything tucked right up her sleeve. She isn’t. She also congratulates herself on her perspicacity, which, in my view, is very limited. It has been said of her, by people who know her up close and personal, that she can never learn anything because she always knew and knows everything. Her language is an affront to human dignity, as well as her revelations of personal data concerning the people she pillories!

Don’t laugh now, because you cannot argue against the truth: She is an agent in evil’s hands. Willingly? I cannot tell, because she seems to be suffering from a psychological condition approaching megalomania: No wonder she was, in her own words, “only 12 when she first mentioned ‘delusions of grandeur’.”
