Dr Buontempo and Dr Galdes said the St Julian’s Local Council was “discriminating against the 500 residents of Ta’ Giorni, who are known in their majority to be Labour supporters.” May I ask Dr Galdes and Dr Bountempo how this came to happen?
It’s very simple Dottori. It’s because of the “diskriminazzjoni bla limitu” during successive MLP Governments between 1971 and 1987 (Freedom Year for Malta), when social housing was only for Labour supporters. Ta’ Giorni was built during those years and that is why a lot of them live there. It is what is called a fortizza Laburista. Do you remember Dr Patrick Holland, God bless his soul?
