It happens every year. Every time there is a heavy downpour of rain, the recycling bins under Manwel Dimech Bridge go off for a swim.
Just as they did last year, and the year before that, the bins were carried off by the torrents of water that rush down from San Gwann. These bins have often ended up floating in the middle of the road and yesterday was no exception.
Surely, the local council could bolt them down or something. While they are at it, they might want to check which building site is the source of thousands of stones that are being washed onto the roads and into the water culverts, which could end up getting blocked.
