Maltese national table tennis champion Daniel Bajada won the second national doubles event open for Category 4 players in Terni, Italy, on Saturday afternoon. Bajada teamed up with ASD Fiaccola team mate Giuseppe Coletta and won five matches en route to the final where they beat Giuseppe Quartuccio and Daniele Rizzo 3-2 (9-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-4, 11-9) to claim the top prize. Bajada played an exceptional game having to recover from a 2-0 deficit at the start of the third set.
Later the Maltese youngster produced another brilliant display as he also won the Singles event. In the final, Daniel beat the more quoted Italain player Della Carri Vincenzo 3-2 .
Daniel lost the first two sets, score 13-11, 11-7, but he made a great comeback winning the other three sets 12-10, 12-10, 11-8.
