National coach Sergio Afric has selected a squad of 13 players for next Saturday’s European Championship qualifier against Poland at tal-Qroqq.

The squad does not include Steve Camilleri of Neptunes who is probably committed to play for his club Bogliasco in Italy.

The squad is the following:

Alan Borg Cole, Timothy Sullivan, Jordan Camilleri, Niki Lanzon, Sean Gravina, Peter Borg, John Soler, John Brownrigg, Mark Meli, Clint Debono, Ryan Coleiro, Andrea Bianchi and Michele Stellini.

Apart from Afric, the other team officials are Karl Izzo, assistant coach and Dr Stefan Camilleri, team doctor.

The European Championship is now being played under a new format and Malta is in this group which also includes Turkey. The next encounter will be an away match against Turkey on 20 November.

The team will again be in action in June and July next year in the return matches of the group.

The ASA is urging all fans to support the team. Admission for the match on Saturday is free of charge.
