Malta Independent Monday, 1 November 2010, 00:00 Last update: about 17 years ago

John Zammit has been confirmed as president of the Malta Cycling Federation (MCF) for another two years.

Acting secretary Johann Bellizzi was voted in as general secretary while Austin Camilleri kept his role as treasurer.

Zammit thanked the delegates for their contribution in this year’s cycling season.

He said that the season was a huge success across the board with the federation registering a record number of participants, thanks to the hard work of the clubs. He also hailed this year’s Tour of Malta and was very proud to have managed to have Malta born top professional cyclist David Millar as guest for the tour. It was a very appreciated gesture by Dave Millar to make the trip to Malta right in the middle of his competitive season.

The MCF also put forward the race calendar for 2011. The highlights of next year’s programme are the Tour of Malta from 6-10 April, club and championship races, as well as Malta’s participation in the Liechtenstein Games for European Small Nations.
