The Bank of Valletta Premier League continues today with one match between champions Birkirkara and bottom placed Vittoriosa Stars at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in Hamrun (kick-off 7.30pm).
It seems to be a good opportunity for Birkirkara to get back on the winning track after collecting just one point from their recent two matches – a 5-2 defeat against Marsaxlokk and a 1-1 draw with Hamrun S.
At present they are occupying a mid-table position with just eight points from a possible 18. And it is still to be seen whether the injury to Trevor Cilia will continue adding to the side’s woes after the injuries for Shaun Bajada, Rowen Muscat and Alan Tabone.
On the other hand, the Stars are bubbling with enthusiasm after earning the first point and first win of the season in their last two encounters.
They had done well to hold Floriana to a draw the previous week before beating Hibernians soundly to the tune of 2-0 the past weekend.
Now the newly promoted team is seeking to maintain their form and give the champions a good run for their money in the hope of making further progress in the standings.
