La Salle ZT Development and La Salle Trendi crowned a wonderful weekend for their club when both teams won the APS Bank Cup.

In the first game La Salle ZT Development won against Aloysians Zmerc with a score of 16-12. It was a balanced game with La Salle’s Yvonne Barry creating the major problems to Aloysians with her fast breaks.

La Salle had a good defence and managed to properly frustrate Aloysians when the latter were in attack.

It was an entertaining game which kept the spectators at edge.

The second game from the ladies cup between Luxol and Kavallieri RS2 was less enthusiastic with Kavallieri playing a good first half but falling short in the second.

On the other hand, Luxol became better as time went by and closed the game on 16-8 in their favour.

La Salle Trendi continued where their gender counterparts beating Aloysians Von Taine by a mere goal for a score of 14-13.

It was a balanced game and the support was fantastic from both sides. La Salle had a good take off but Aloysians patiently managed to cut the disadvantage.

La Salle kept the same momentum of the first half, taking a good advantage in the initial minutes and seeing their lead reducing as time goes by.

In the last seconds, Aloysians had the chance to draw with a clear chance but the ball missed the post by few centimeters, giving La Salle a deserved win.

With a round left La Salle are now mathematically champions. Maybe this was not a win of spectacular play but definitely the combination of young upcoming talent and experience gave La Salle the enthusiasm and hunger they needed.

In the last game, Luxol won against Phoenix with a score of 26-17.

It was a good overall game from Luxol but Phoenix must not be cut off from the challenge for titles in the coming competitions.

The first half was balanced with Phoenix always riding the wheel of Luxol with a mere goal disadvantage.

In the second half, some questionable refereeing decisions led to players from both sides losing their temper with Orlando Bonnici and Kevin Casaru being handed a direct red card.

From then on, Phoenix lost their concentration and Luxol kept building their advantage for the final 26-17 score.
