Last four qualifiers between today and tomorrow
The last four first round matches in the competition are being played between today and tomorrow.
Two matches are being played at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in Hamrun this afternoon, another is being played tomorrow at the Centenary Stadium, while the last one is being played at the Gozo Stadium, also tomorrow.
This afternoon’s programme starts with the Hibs-Pieta clash. Pieta qualified after crushing Msida 6-0 in midweek in a preliminary round match. But the Paolites are looking at this match as a good chance to resuscitate their season after some dismal performances of late which have seen them dropping to near the bottom of the Premier League standings.
In the second match, Tarxien Rainbows will be aiming to maintain their positive run as they face first division Balzan Youths.
Tomorrow, at the Centenary Stadium, it will be an all first division clash between St George’s and St Andrews and this promises to be a keen clash.
In Gozo, Victoria Hotspurs will be seeking to take advantage of playing at home for a surprise win against Vittoriosa Stars, but the latter are coming from a positive stretch which has seen them collect five points from three Premier league matches.
