Swimming - Three More national short course records for Mark Sammut in UK

National swimmer Mark Sammut, who is currently training and studying at Kelly College in Tavistock UK, broke three short course national records during the ASA South West Region Championships held in Millfield last weekend.

The new 100m backstroke record is now at 59.19 which is 1.33 seconds better than his previous time of 1.00.52 registered in Aachen, Germany in October. Sammut clocked 58.46 in the 100m butterfly to erase the previous record of 58.88. The new record time for the 200m backstroke is 2.11.7. The previous record time for the 200m backstroke was 2.13.08 and was held by Christian Gialanze since 1994.
