Mark Fenech must have been dreaming (ToM, 3 November) to say that during the Mepa board meeting we residents did not object to losing our views, (among other valid reasons), when we objected most vigorously to this proposed development, or to say that the meeting was calm!
Elsewhere in the media, correspondents are suggesting this is a tailor-made application after the local plan was amended to suit the likes of Mark Fenech, in which case it is being suggested that, should the permit be granted, politicians need not knock on our door come election time.
In the 1970s and 1980s we had the infamous PAPB, with minister Lorry Sant making a mockery of urban planning, and today we have the so-called local plans being adjusted and twisted like chewing gum overnight to keep the blue-eyed boys happy.
This is what the people out there think about this case, and the authorities concerned would do well to heed it all carefully before it is too late.
