Coach Mark Miller blamed the derby defeat on the lack of quality players in the Hibernians’ team.

Otherwise, Miller thinks that it was a good game from his players, who gave their all and improved on previous games.

It was a 50-50 game which could have gone either way, although it was going to be difficult after conceding that unlucky own goal so early. Nonetheless Hibernians created chances in a fast game but his players failed to finish them off.

Miller praised both sides for going out to win a game of football.

Tarxien coach Noel Coleiro agreed that his team was lucky to take such an early lead but he was worried that Tarxien retreated too early and suffered some pressure.

But, according to Coleiro, Tarxien improved in the second half.

“The substitution I made towards the hour, taking off Calabretta and putting in Manuel Caruana, thus pushing Costa more forward, was the turning point of the match,” confirmed the Tarxien coach who explained that his players were able to hold more to possession after that.

Tarxien’s aim, according to their coach, remains a top-six finish. With the exception of Valletta, Coleiro sees equilibrium among all the rest, Hibernians included.
