Last Sunday the St Mary society and Band King George V of Mqabba continued with their centenary celebrations.

To commemorate such a grand event the St Mary Society invited the Island Karting Club to organise a Motorsport festival which was eventually organised to raise funds for a special child in need, Sandro Zammit.

The Island Karting Club took their karts to the streets of Mqabba in a day to remember. A huge turnout of drivers and karts displayed their great skills.

The activities stopped twice during the day to have a special live commentary directly from La Conca where Junior IKC national champion Lucas Pace was participating in the final stages of the Rotax world finals.

This event was the second of the Island Karting Club’s pre-season events and was another success.

The Island Karting Clubs has also announced that this year it will be joining Tonio Darmanin and his exclusive team in ‘Paqpaqli Ghall-Istrina 2010’.
