It’s not even December. The street lights have been put up. Roundabouts have been decorated. The usual Christmas shops have already sprouted up. The adverts for lunches, dinners and parties are already all over the place.

All the while, the true spiritual meaning of Christmas – a time for reflection, enjoying family, dedicating time to God – is nowhere to be seen. Yes, Malta is as materialistic as anywhere else in the world and it’s only getting worse.
