The UK daily The People ran an article in which a bank employee on a £7 an hour salary was fired from her job for complaining on Facebook that while she is paid at such a low level, hardly being able to make ends meet in the high cost of living Britain, the newly appointed CEO was going to be paid £4,000 an hour.

She was fired for complaining on Facebook and quoting publicly available information. The bank in question was one of those which had to be taken in hand by the state as it was not very liquid and the newly appointed CEO hailed from one of the EU geographically periphery states.

Here again the Gospel adage that the first will come last and the last first seems to be also borne out, as the hard suffering shareholders were disenfranchised, with as far as I know none of those highly placed officials who ruined the banks were imprisoned and lucky non-nationals brought in on high perks and salaries.
