I refer to the article by the Hon. Robert Arrigo (The Malta Independent, 17 December 2010).
Contrary to what was stated in the article, a formal, personally addressed invite for the official opening of the George Bonello Dupuis garden in Qui-si-sana, was sent to Mr Arrigo at the Ministry of Finance where he serves as Parliamentary Assistant. Moreover, an invite was sent to all Sliema households.
I personally checked on the delivery of the invite to Mr Arrigo. I was informed that the invite was delivered to the Ministry and that there is a standing arrangement between the Ministry and the Hon. Arrigo that correspondence received at the Ministry is eventually re-directed to an address in St Julians. This is due to the fact that he is not constantly present at the Ministry.
I trust that the above clarifies the false impression that was given in the said article.
