Workers should fight competitiveness with all their strength.
What I suggest is that every country would have a licence, issued by the international trade union organisation, to produce a particular commodity. While there would be internal competition because companies in the same country would compete among themselves under the supervision of the local national trade union organisation, the country would have no foreign competition.
This means that through this commodity the country would be able to provide for all its needs. It is true that, under such a system, prices would tend to go up but what would it matter if everyone was paid the living wage that would incorporate the national insurance stamp – which, ideally, would cater for education as well as health and pensions.
Countries who abuse the system could have their licence revoked by the international trade union organisation.
Under such a system everybody would have a decent income without stress.
It is useless for trade union activists to protest unless they can offer an alternative system and fight for its implementation.
Trade union activists should infiltrate world organisations to bring about the necessary changes.
