Three Zurrieq Wolves AC athletes - Joe Saliba, Pawlu Camilleri and Doreen Vella - have returned to Malta from Catania after they competed in the first edition of the Catania half marathon held last Sunday.

The 21.1km race was characterised by strong winds and cold weather but the Maltese athletes were in good form.

Saliba finished third overall with a fantastic time of 1hr 15m 11s, Camilleri, the Zurrieq Wolves head coach, finished with a very good time of 1hr 24m 30s, placing second in his over 50 category.

Vella, after a 12 months stop from running due to her pregnancy – she is now a mother of a lovely baby girl - has returned to the scene with a bang finishing the race in a time of 1hr 28m 57s. She was sixth female overall and first in her under 35 category.
