Mr George G. Debono’s article ‘Getting realistic about electric cars’ (TMID, 20 December) was very welcome and to the point.
Allow me two additional observations. First, once the inter-connector cable to Sicily is complete and Malta buys electricity from nuclear plants on the Continent, the electric cars’ emissions will approach zero already and, second, the government’s attitude towards electric cars, as reflected in the woefully inadequate goal for the number of electric cars, does not bode well for Mr Debono’s hope that we’ll do everything possible not to lag behind yet again.
