Malta striker Michael Mifsud is this week undergoing a trial with Italian Serie B side Padova in Malta.
The Italian club, which is aiming for promotion to next season’s Serie A, are holding a training camp this week in Malta.
It will come to an end on Sunday when the team takes part in a triangular tournament at the Hibernians Stadium, alongside local champions Birkirkara and Hamrun Spartans. It will consist of three matches of 45 minutes duration.
Mifsud is eager to resume his career abroad and is expected to do his utmost to convince the Italian side. The Malta striker had played for Valletta FC from January to May of last season, but despite some summer efforts he had failed to find a club.
Earlier in his career, Mifsud had played abroad for Kaiserslautern in Germany, Lillestrom in Norway, Coventry City and Barnsley in England.
