Maltese models now have a new springboard for showcasing their work, www.pearl-works.com. The website, which is the brainchild of local photographer Jacob Sammut Carabez, focuses on fashion shoots with a twist and was created with the objective of highlighting the artistic and creative angle of fashion as opposed to the commercial element.

“Fashion photography is an emerging art in Malta, but one that is fast becoming a strong presence thanks to the efforts of a number of photographers who still value the art of the industry and who don’t sacrifice their creativity in favour of commercial trends. The launch of this website is a very significant milestone for me as ever since I started photography I have dreamt of launching a website that celebrates the sheer beauty of fashion and its artistic potential,” said Mr Sammut Carabez.

The son of a professional photographer, Mr Sammut Carabez is an established name on the local photography scene. Specialising in fashion shoots, his work has been featured on a number of local magazines and he has made his mark on the local industry thanks to the versatility of his style and his ability to create photographic fashion statements from seemingly mundane situations. Besides fashion photography, Mr Sammut Carabez also carries out a range of other photographic services.
