Dario Cologna of Switzerland and Poland's Justyna Kowalczyk won yesterday's second stage of the cross-country World Cup's annual Tour de Ski.
Cologna beat Devon Kershew of Canada and Alexander Legkov of Russia in the final sprint to finish the 15-kilometer classical handicap race in 47 minutes, 48.1 seconds. Kowalczyk protected her lead from Friday's prologue race and was never threatened in the women's 10K race, winning in 33:32.5. Finland's Krista Lahteenmaki moved up from 10th place to finish second, 27.5 seconds behind Kowalczyk. Marianna Longa of Italy was third, 30.5 seconds back.
The Tour continues today with classical sprints in Oberstdorf, Germany. The competition includes eight races in 10 days in five locations in Germany and Italy.
