Malta Independent Tuesday, 4 January 2011, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Thomas Cremona left Malta on 29 December on his way to Agadir in Morocco, via Paris.

On arrival at Agadir it was great to meet with the other crew members

The next day was his first full day in Morocco. They went for a seven-hour sea trial, and Sara G is working beautifully.

He said the crew were all motivated and eager to start rowing across the Atlantic.

On the final day of the year, the crew needed to carry out some minor modifications to the boat. On completion, they had to leave Agadir in the early afternoon and head for the port of Tarfaya in southern Morocco – a trip of about 40 hours.

Thomas J. Cremona is 22, from Swieqi, Malta. He has participated in several challenges including LifeCycle 2006, cycling over 2000km in 10 days, in aid of the national renal unit. Having been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia at the age of 4, his driving ambition for the 2011 Atlantic row is to raise awareness that there is life after

cancer.
