Many of us have been enjoying the recent festivities and get-togethers in the spirit of “peace on Earth and good will toward men” among our friends. However, the sad reality is for very many the past year has been the opposite with escalating problems of all kinds causing much distress, many of which seem to have been the worst in living memory - and the predictions seem to be an even bleaker outlook. So how can we get more “peace and good will” among us?
I think the secret lies in the world’s greatest classic – the Bible. It promises its readers “the peace of God which passes all understanding” (Phil 4:7) and that’s been the experience of so many of its readers. The Bible teaching has been the greatest source of good for centuries and once we experience this ourselves we can help others to enjoy life more and foster the spirit of real peace and goodwill amongst others that personal and practical Christianity radiates, and help make the world a more peaceful place.
So the answer is to read the Bible for ourselves and if any of the readers of The Malta Independent would like an absolutely free copy of a New Testament I shall be pleased to send the first 100 that request one, as a New Year’s good will gesture. Just want to share the peace of mind and happiness God’s word has given me and others. Try it and share our happiness
