APs Bank Under 17 Section A
St Andrews 1
Floriana 0
A goal after 30 minutes decided this game. Nicholas Bradshaw pounced on a faulty clearance and he scored with a hard rising shot from 40 metres past a helpless Borg. St Andrews were the better outfit during the first period as the Greens were very erratic in their passing and also lacked punch up front. They also committed the gravest of mistakes by playing high balls which were easily dealt with by the tall Saints’ defenders.
St Andrews now occupy fourth place on 19 points from 10 games while Floriana are in sixth position on 15 points from the same number of games.
The second period was a totally different story as Floriana were a completely different outfit as they created much more occasions than St Andrews; in fact a draw would have been a fairer result.
The game’s hero was St Andrews keeper Gianluca Felice as he denied the Floriana forwards on many occasions with some very good saves.
