Attard were the better team during the first-half and after just two minutes Mdina’s defender Gilbert Camilleri almost committeed an own-goal.
At the other end Mdina hit the post off a Clint Caruana corner-kick with Attard responding through a shot by Kayne Said which was saved by Cini.
Gradually play ensued in the midfield sector with Attard taking the lead in the 22nd through a low angled shot by Kurt Zahra.
Four minutes later Zahra was again close through a volley which just missed the target and just before the break Attard were again very close through Erjon Beu.
After the change of ends play continued to be balanced with Mdina missing a clear opportunity early on through Peter Grima.
Then Attard twice went close through Kayne Said and in the 56th minute Attard’s captain Colin Ciantar was sent off for a second caution.
Mdina’s reaction produced two dangerous efforts by Luke Busuttil and Peter Grima with Attard making it 2-0 on 62 minutes through their foreign striker Erjon Beu after a Kurt Zahra free-kick had hit the post.
Then Attard protested for a penalty with Mdina reducing the arrears in the 76th minute through an excellent long-range shot by Robert Southward.
Mdina continued to push forward but in the 87th minute Attard made it 3-1 through a beautiful shot by Erjon Beu from a cross by Darren Galea. In added time Beu hit the post with a low angled shot.

Siggiewi FC-Marsascala 7-3
Marsascala surprised their opponents with a goal scored by Matthew Gauci after just three minutes but a minute later Siggiewi drew level through a low shot by Jason Camilleri following good work by Josef Vassallo.
Then Jason Camilleri hit the post with a close-range effort but in the 18th minute the same player gave Siggiewi the lead with a low shot.
In the 21st minute Jason Camilleri notched his personal hat-trick following a persistent effort and three minutes later Siggiewi made it 4-1 through an own-goal by Marsascala’s defender Stefan Saliba after a shot by Muhamed Hn Ahmed had hit the post.
In the 29th minute Marsascala reduced the arrears as Malcolm Bugeja lobbed the ball over Roderick Vella and just before the break Siggiewi were again close on a couple of occasions.
After the change of ends Siggiewi maintained the initiative and in the 51st minute Siggiewi made it 5-2 through Josef Vassallo following a personal effort.
In the 64th minute a shot by Jason Camilleri was cleared off the line by Stefan Saliba and a minute later Siggiewi scored a sixth goal with Mark Camilleri heading in from a Kim Buhagiar corner-kick.
In the 74th minute Marsascala reduced the arrears through their foreign striker Prince Ali Osman and in the 90th minute Siggiewi made it 7-3 with Jason Camilleri getting his fourth personal goal.

Kalkara-Sirens 2-4
The first-half was a balanced affair with Kalkara taking the lead after 10 minutes through a low shot by Michael Zammit following a personal effort.
Sirens were close through Joe Camilleri and Giovanni Galea but in the 24th minute Kalkara made it 2-0 through a lob by Clayton Micallef.
Five minutes later Sirens replied through Giovanni Galea whose shot just missed the target with Kalkara going very close on 35 minutes as a shot by Michael Zammit was cleared off the line by Etienne Sant.
Two minutes before the break the Sirens’ keeper brought off a fine save to deny Zammit with Sirens hitting the post off an effort by Jonathan Grech.
After the resumption Sirens dominated the proceedings and in the 51st minute they reduced the arrears through an excellent volley by Alan Xuereb following good work by Giovanni Galea.
Three minutes Later Sirens were back on level terms as Alan Xuereb scored his second goal with an angled shot and in the 58th minute Sirens even took the lead with substitute Gary Grant beating Martin Galea from close-range following a good move by Giovanni Galea.
In the final stages of the match Sirens missed a clear opportunity through Ryan Sciberras with Kalkara going close through a Jacob Camilleri direct free-kick.
In the 90th minute Sirens scored a fourth goal through a low angled shot by Ryan Theuma and in added time an incident led to Kalkara’s defender Sinclair Camilleri being sent-off.

Ghaxaq-Luqa SA 3-2
The first period proved to be a balanced affair with Luqa twice going close early on through Lee Baldacchino.
Ghaxaq wasted a clear opportunity through Louis Falzon and on another occasion a strong shot by Francois Galea finished just wide off the far post.
In the 14th minute Luqa were close through Roderick Debattista but three minutes later Ghaxaq broke the deadlock with Bjorn Dalli beating Paul Psaila with an angled shot.
In the 22nd minute Ghaxaq could have increased their lead but Dalli concluded just wide from close-range. Gradually Luqa gained the initiative and were close through Jason Good and Roderick Debattista.
After the break Luqa increased the pressure and after twice going close early on through Lee Baldacchino, in the 57th minute the same striker headed in past Ludvic Fardell to make it one-all.
Ghaxaq replied through Albert Caruana whose long-range shot was saved by Paul Psaila but in the 73rd minute they regained the lead with Bjorn Dalli beating Psaila with an angled shot following a solo effort.
Four minutes later Dalli did all the work on the right flank and with a square pass made it too easy for Louis Falzon to make it 3-1.
In the 85th minute Ghaxaq’s midfield player Jean Paul Abela was sent off for a second caution and in injury-time Luqa pulled a goal back through Mark Said.

Fgura-Kirkop 0-2
Kirkop United played the better football throughout the first period and after just five minutes a headed attempt by Joseph Fenech finished just wide.
Fgura replied through Nazzareno Fenech whose effort was deflected to a corner-kick with Kirkop then twice being denied by the Fgura custodian Warren Bianco off a free-kick taken by Darren Caruana and an angled shot by Orianski Buhagiar.
Five minutes before the break Fgura scored through Nazzareno Abela but the goal was disallowed for an offside infringement.
After the change of ends play was quite balanced but on the hour Kirkop scored the goal that mattered through a long-range free-kick by their debutant Libyan striker Sufin Atomi.
Fgura’s reaction produced a Rodney Galea free-kick which just missed the target and late in the match Kirkop wasted a clear goal scoring opportunity through Orianski Buhagiar from a cross by Ronald Spina.
In injury-time Kirkop sealed the issue through Orianski Buhagiar from a cross by Josef Attard.

Pembroke Ath-Gharghur 0-1
Pembroke gained the initiative during the first-half and early on they were close through Robert Zammit.
At the other end Pembroke’s defender Warren Zammit almost committed an own goal with Pembroke replying through a low shot by Laurent Farrugia which was well saved by James Mercieca.
In the 32nd minute in another Pembroke attack an effort by Jean Claude Borg was deflected to a corner-kick and just before the break Gharghur’s striker Malcolm Tirchett was denied by a difficult save by Jean Pierre Debattista.
After the break Gharghur pressed forward and early on an Andrew Formosa shot was well saved by Debattista.
In a counter-attack Pembroke were denied by James Mercieca off an effort by Dylan Azzopardi and at the other end Gharghur missed a clear opportunity as Malcolm Tirchett headed wide from close-range.
On the hour Gharghur were denied by Debattista off a low shot by Nenad Veselji with Pembroke being denied by Mercieca off a free-kick taken by Jean Claude Borg.
Then Gharghur were twice close through Malcolm Tirchett but eight minutes from time they got the goal that mattered through a close-range shot by Nenad Veselji.
