The death of former footballer Charles Muscat ‘Il-Bahri” was announced yesterday.

He was just 48 years old.

Muscat started his playing career with Birzebbugia St Peters but was renowned for his career with St Patrick and Zurrieq.

Muscat was also voted Footballer of the Year in the 1983-84 season and played four times for Malta’s National team.
