I am sorry for Annabelle Vassallo and for her family as they all went through a hard and painful time. I completely agree with your leading article ‘They are all heroes’ (TMID, 26 January). While Annabelle suffered, I felt that the case was given too much attention when there are so many others who suffer in silence.
Seven months ago I lost my sister at the age of 48. My sister went through what Annabelle went through and many others went through and are going through the same. My sister was too, very courageous, optimistic, a fighter and strongly believed and trusted in God.
She went through her illness in silence together with her husband and us, that is my 86-year-old parents, my brothers, sister and myself.
We are still grieving her loss but I am sure she is in the same place as Annabelle that is in Heaven together with the others who went through the trauma of having suffered from cancer.
Rest in peace Annabelle.
