The 16th round of the Premier League kicks off this evening at the Victor Tedesco Stadium in Hamrun, where Hamrun Spartans will be facing Marsaxlokk.

It is a crucial match for both sides who are occupying fifth and sixth places as the two teams are aiming for a Top Six berth.

They both have 19 points and lie four points behind fourth placed Birkirkara. But they are just three points above Sliema and five over Qormi when three matches have yet to be played.

At present, Marsaxlokk are very optimistic about their chances, especially after their goalless draw against league leaders Valletta.

On the other hand, Hamrun are passing through a disappointing period and have registered three consecutive defeats.

Moreover, in midweek they let go their main stalwart, midfielder Ryan Fenech, to Valletta. And this is bound to have a negative effect on the side, even if there will be Dyson Falzon as his substitute.

Falzon joined the Spartans for the rest of the season with a promise that he will be returning to Valletta in June.

It is a match which will be worth watching as both teams are expected to go all out to get the three points.
