Luxol Sports Club, along with St Andrew’s FC ,will be organizing the Mario Borg Memorial Football Festival today at the Luxol Stadium.
In this festival, 16 teams from 10 nurseries will participate, where around 232 children will be playing in 32 matches.
Being the third edition, the festival will be dedicated to children born after January 1999 and 2000 coming from the nurseries of: B’Kara, Hamrun Spartans, Melita, Mosta, Paola Hibernians, Pieta Hotspurs, Qormi, Rabat Ajax, San Gwann and St Andrew’s.
Before the draws held last Monday at the Luxol Stadium, Mario De Battista, Administrator of St Andrew’s emphasised on the importance of giving the opportunity to all participating children to have their ran on the field of play and urged their respective coaches to “Let Them Play”. He said that the scope of such Fun Festivals mast always be, first and foremost, that of delivering to these young players a positive experience through Football.
For this festival, St Andrews will be using the U/11 and U/13 YFA Fun Football Festival Rules as they believe in having one set of regulations adapted by the Youth Football Association.
