The Malta Pool Association will be organising the forthcoming European Championship at The Dolmen Hotel in Bugibba.

It is the fourth time that the association has been entrusted with the organization of these championships, which are to be staged between 20 and 25 February.

More than 250 players from nine different countries will be taking part in the event which will be contested in seven men’s categories (A and B) as well as other categories such as women, Under 21, Under 18, Over 50s and wheelchairs.

The participants hail from Malta, England, Channel Islands, Belgium, Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France and the Republic of Ireland.

The Maltese players at these championships will be the following:

Men Team A: Clayton Attard, Clint Azzopardi, Antoine Cuschieri, Mario Brincat, Johan Attard, Ivan Rizzo.

Men Team B: Kevin Schembri, Christ Tabone, Claudio Cassar, Ray Caruana, Clayton Castaldi, Miguel Falzon.

Men Team C: Christ Mills, Stephen Mangion, Kevin Mercieca, Mario Cutajar, Jesmond Schembri, Joseph Tabone.

Under 21: Malcolm Azzopardi, Joseph Casha, Maverick Zammit, Thurston Grixti, Lyden Debono, Louis Gravina.

Under 18: Lothar Mallia, Scott Muscat, Dylan Attard, Ryan Pisani, Owen Amato, Matthew Zammit.

Women: Donna Bugeja, Lisa Mallia Milanes, Heather Harmsworth, Roberta Cutajar, Caroline Grech, Karen Grech.

Over 50s: Marcel Micallef, John Azzopardi, Manuel Fiott.

Over 50s Team B: Saviour Mifsud, Alfred Micallef, Alfred Attard.
