The second ranking tournament of the season organised by the Malta Billiards and Snooker Association is underway. The finals are to be played next Friday at La Vincitrice.

The following players have alreadu qualified among the Last 16: Stephen Mangion, Frans Mintoff, Thurston Grixti, Philip Ciantar, Ivan Rizzo, Richard Lewis and Clayton Castaldi.

Duncan Bezzina, Alex Borg and Simon Zammit will be in action this week meeting Luke Borg, Brian Cardona and Peter Tonna respectively.

Meanwhile the association has announced that it will be staging the Teams European Championship in Malta.

These are to be staged at The Dolmen Hotel in Bugibba between 28 March and 8 April.

Euro Tour 9-ball French Open

Maltese player Alex Borg is taking part in this Euro Tour which is being held in Paris, France.

He has already beaten Germany’s Kohler Carsten 9-1, Britain’s Alan Cotton 9-5 and Kenny Sauco of Spain 9-4.

Following these wins, Borg is expected to move up to 30th in the world ranking list.
