As expected, Hibs had an easy passage into the final where Depiro were awaiting them.

The Paolites could increase their lead with every passing session and the saints were replying in patches. Both sides were consistent in their own way score-wise and the champions could put in all their bench players with Francesca Tabone relishing evry moment on court.

Hibs had Caroline Schiavone unavailable. St. Andrews were without Nadia Cassar and Renette Magro but recovered Ilona Galea.

The Paolites began with Doreen Micallef points and went on to register a sound 14-2 opening advantage with a Kirsten Baldacchino triple. The Saints reacted and till the end of the period had Justine Mangion with her points but suffered another trey from Lucienne Bezzina as Hibs saw their lead was cut down.

The second session, by coincidence, had the same scoreline as the previous one. The champions put in an 8-0 run with a Tabone triple before St Andrews provided a reply once more, this time through Madeleine De Martino. The Paolites ended the quarter with a last-second Tabone triple to go in at the interval on a 34-16 advantage.

After the break there was nearly another repeat session score. Hibs had Nadia Arrigo and Joselle Cardona with their hoops on one side and Madeleine De Martino for the Saints.

Towards the end of the period there were triples at both ends with Josette Calleja sinking hers for the Saints and Baldacchino replying instantly for the champions as the Paolites took a 51-25 lead.

At the start of the last session Hibs were rampant again as they built up a solid 16-3 run with Tabone netting two more triples and Tina De Martino also sank a trey for the Saints.

The last part of the match was more even and more open with the result in no doubt.
