The president of the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE), Luis Rubiales, was elected unanimously by the European representatives of FIFPro new member of UEFA’s Strategic Council.

Former MFA president Dr Joseph Mifsud forms part of this UEFA Committee which also includes as members UEFA President Michel Platini, together with the other Vice Presidents Senes Erzik (Turkey), Geoffrey Thompson (England), Angel Maria Villar (Spain), and Jerome Valcke (France) as an observer.

The Professional Football Strategy Council (PFSC) is made by the EPFL (European leagues), ECA (European Club) and FIFPro Division Europe.

As is already known, Dr Mifsud is not contesting the forthcoming UEFA elections.

It is MFA president Norman Darmanin Demajo who will be a candidate in next month’s elections at the UEFA Congress.
