The male ASA national team made up of Mark Sammut (backstroke), Andrea Agius (breaststroke), Neil Agius (butterfly) and Andrew Chetcuti (freestyle), obtained the right to participate in the next Small Nations Games being held in Liechtenstein next June after clocking 4.05.73 - more than 4 seconds lower than the MOC qualifying standard for the 4 x 100 medley men.

Their qualification arrived yesterday during the time trials organised by the ASA at the Tal-Qroqq Pool.

That time also meant that they set a new national record in the 4 x 100 medley men as the previous timing was 4.07.21.

The President of the ASA, Joe Caruana Curran, and national coach Andy Colbourn expressed their satisfaction at this result which confirms the progress of the national team.

It is the first time that the ASA male national team qualified for the Small Nations Games.
