Floriana FC yesterday sacked Bulgarian coach (Technical Director) Todor Raykov, according to the club’s official website.
The decision was taken by the club’s administration after the heavy 4-0 defeat at the hands of Marsaxlokk on Saturday afternoon. That was the fourth consecutive defeat for the club.
Raykov had been employed by the Greens last summer and led the side through a good run, finishing third in the Top Six, thus earning a Championship Pool berth quite comfortably.
From now on it will be his assistant Michael Woods, who will be in charge of the team, as the Greens continue on their way towards a second or third placing which might mean a place in the Europa League next season.
Roger Camilleri will keep assuming the role of goalkeepers’ coach.
